Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly contain one of these. You usually place a bet (a dollar is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that can reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Though big jackpots like these are particularly alluring, they are also incredibly difficult to succeed. You might need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, picture this- you wager 20 hands and put the side bet each time. That is twenty dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a bet with greater odds employing that twenty dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the overall casino edge from 2% with a single zero wheel to a whopping fivepercent in American. The single number wager has just a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much lower house advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you play it, the house advantage can be a whopping 25%. No, that isn’t a typo. Due to the large set of numbers you have to choose, it isn’t recommended to gamble on Keno to often. A couple of times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you will immediately discover yourself bankrupt.
